The Click That Started Everything

In 2013, one click changed my life.

I was applying for financing to purchase a business. After attaching highly confidential financial documents, I typed what I believed was my banker's name and clicked Send.
Seconds later, my heart sank.
I hadn't emailed my banker.
I had sent everything to the wrong person.
There was no hacker. No malware. No phishing attack.
The mistake was mine.

As I dealt with the consequences, one thought kept coming back: if this could happen to me, it could happen to anyone.
Every day, people accidentally send confidential emails to the wrong customer, attorney, colleague, or client. Organizations spend billions protecting themselves from cybercriminals, yet one simple human mistake can still expose sensitive information and lead to costly data breaches.
Then one question changed everything:

Why does the most important button in email simply say "Send"?
If that's the final moment before confidential information leaves your inbox forever, why doesn't it clearly show you who you're sending it to?
What if the Send button displayed the recipient's photo and name, giving your brain one final visual confirmation before it was too late?
That idea became an obsession.

I wasn't trying to build a cybersecurity company.
I simply wanted to prevent others from experiencing the mistake I had made.

About a year later, while researching the idea, I took a leap of faith and sent a cold email to one of the billionaire investors from Shark Tank. I wasn't asking for funding. I simply wanted to know if someone who evaluated thousands of ideas believed this problem was worth solving.
Sixteen minutes later, my phone buzzed.
He had replied personally.
Over the following emails, he asked thoughtful questions, shared strategic feedback, and expressed genuine interest in the concept. That conversation gave me something more valuable than funding: confidence that this was a real problem worth solving.
The next several years were filled with technical challenges, patent filings, and countless setbacks. There were many moments when giving up would have been easier.
Instead, that single mistake was granted U.S. patents.
Today, Cognisend exists because of one ordinary human error.

Our mission is simple: To help people catch the mistakes that technology has overlooked for decades.
Because sometimes the biggest cybersecurity threat isn't a hacker.
It's sending the right information to the wrong person. A human error!
